In a heartwarming initiative to support their local food bank, residents of a care home have creatively combined art with philanthropy by crafting a scarecrow named Sally. After speaking with residents about the need for non-perishable food donations, the staff decided to take a unique approach rather than simply placing a collection box at reception.<\/p>\n
During a recent art club meeting, residents gathered in the Tea Room to bring their vision of Sally to life. The atmosphere was filled with laughter and camaraderie as they stuffed donated clothes with newspaper\u2014collected from the many read newspapers around the home. The collaborative effort turned into a fun-filled activity that many residents enjoyed for the first time.<\/p>\n
Once completed, Sally the Scarecrow was placed in reception alongside a food collection box, quickly becoming the centerpiece of the care home. Residents and staff alike have embraced the new addition, with Sally sparking conversations and smiles throughout the community.<\/p>\n
“This was a wonderful way to bring everyone together while also helping those in need,” said one resident. Sally’s charming presence not only showcases creative teamwork but also serves as a heartwarming reminder of the importance of community support during the harvest season.<\/p>\n
