We Are So #GladtoCare

Staff and residents have been very busy at Nodens Manor, with the recent #GladToCare week that ran from 12-16 June 2023.

What is #GladToCare Week?

#GladToCare is an awareness week that shines a light on care professionals, their resilience and their contribution to the health and wellbeing of the nation. Without carers, many, many families across the UK would be without help and support. Care, both in care homes and in the community, is a vital part of many people’s lives and it helps them to live a fulfilling life for longer.

#GladToCare emerged from the pandemic, a period of intense work and care management that pushed our staff harder than ever before. An awareness week, #GladToCare celebrates all that is good about care and care workers, highlighting their work and showing appreciation for the extraordinary contribution that carers make to the lives of those that they care for and the people that love those being looked after.

Glad To Care at Nodens Manor

Nodens Manor had an especially exciting #GladToCare week, with a long list of activities for residents and staff to get involved in to mark the week.

Noden’s Manor had a focus on individual carers, hearing from them directly as to what is so important to them about their role in care. We’d love you to meet Anne, one of our fabulous carers, and find out what gives her most joy in her role. Anne says,

“I enjoy working in a care home most of all because I like to improve a resident’s way of living. I like when I can build up a relationship with them, and their family and friends. I wouldn’t and couldn’t work anywhere else other than Nodens Manor.”

Thank you, Anne! What an amazing thing to say and we love you too!

There was a particular focus on wellbeing during this year’s #GladToCare week, with one day set aside for wellbeing with laughter yoga on offer. As well as setting one day aside for wellbeing in particular, the whole week brings with it a feeling of enormous wellbeing and happiness.

The residents took time and care with their contribution to #GladToCare week, colouring in some #GladToCare posters to brighten up the home and making our care team smile.

The week was signed off with a message to all staff at Nodens Manor, with the following message –

“Nodens Manor’s is made up of not only our Carers, but our General Manager, Kitchen Team, Housekeeping Team, and our Maintenance and Front of House Managers. Without everyone, the home wouldn’t be the same. Thank you everyone.”

It’s been a brilliant week and we’re looking forward to 2024 already!

We Are So #GladtoCare Staff and residents have been very busy at Nodens Manor, with the recent #GladToCare week that ran from 12-16 June 2023.
