This week Nodens Manor Residents were surprised with a visit from the local ‘Animals Interactive’ group.

Jasmine visited who is a trained practitioner in Animal Intervention Therapies. Held in Sceptre Suite, we met a Snake, Lizards, Meerkat, Skunk, Owl and Guinea Pigs. Therapy animals can be any animal, not just therapy dogs. All of the ‘Animals Interactive’ animals have been trained and are comfortable meeting a new people.

EM was incredibly brave and held every single animal we met today. June had the biggest snuggle with a skunk, and Tony had a meerkat fall asleep in his arms.

“It was great to see our residents light up at getting to meet these animals. Everyone loved it, and a few residents even conquered their fears and were brave enough to touch an animal they did not expect to like.” – Charlotte, Front of House Manager

“This has been such an experience. I am glad I was here for this. It was so special.” – JF, Respite Resident
