Residents of Old Sarum Manor Care Home were treated to an extraordinary visit as the charming ladies from Lane House Alpacas Farm in Chippenham brought two adorable alpacas to the care home.<\/p>\n
As the alpacas trotted through the front door into the reception area, excitement was palpable. Their friendly demeanor immediately captivated everyone, sparking smiles and laughter among the residents. Among the first to greet the furry visitors was Grace, who lives on the ground floor. “I couldn\u2019t believe my eyes when they came into my room!” she exclaimed, beaming with joy.<\/p>\n
The alpacas, escorted by their caretakers, then made their way down the corridor toward the garden room, pausing along the way to say hello to residents who were unable to join the gathering. Their calm nature and friendly disposition provided a soothing atmosphere, transforming the ordinary day into a cherished occasion.<\/p>\n
Once gathered in the garden room, family members and residents had the chance to ask questions and learn more about these fascinating creatures. The caretakers from Lane House Alpacas shared insights about their farm, revealing how they started with just two alpacas and now care for over 100. The alpacas\u2019 wool is harvested and sold to create cozy socks, adding a unique twist to their visit.<\/p>\n
The fun didn\u2019t stop there. The residents laughed with delight as the alpacas were taken on a special lift ride, visiting each floor of the care home. Margaret, a resident on the top floor, expressed her joy at meeting the alpacas, enjoying the opportunity to touch their soft faces. \u201cIt was such a lovely surprise! Seeing them in the lift was the highlight of my day,\u201d she said, her eyes sparkling.<\/p>\n
