With activities taking place at <a href=\"https:\/\/elmfieldcare.co.uk\/old-sarum-manor\/\">Old Sarum Manor<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/elmfieldcare.co.uk\/flowers-manor\/\">Flowers Manor<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/elmfieldcare.co.uk\/nodens-manor\/\">Nodens Manor<\/a>, we thought it would be a lovely idea to take a look back at all the fun and excitement.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>Old Sarum Manor <\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">The residents at Old Sarum Manor celebrated the King\u2019s Coronation with lots of delicious food and goodies, enjoying them alongside their families. The weather was good enough for us to enjoy some games in the garden \u2013 which was useful to help us all work off some of the fabulous buffet that we all enjoyed. In addition to a superb savoury spread by our catering team, we also tucked into a Coronation cake. As if a fabulous cake wasn\u2019t enough, one of our Care Assistants, Becky, joined us on her day off, bringing in some stunning Coronation cheesecakes \u2013 everyone thoroughly enjoyed them. Luckily, there was a little room left to delight over our ice creams, supplied by H\u2019s Ices.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Our home was bedecked in red, white and blue, thanks to support from our maintenance team. Our decorations provided a heart-warming backdrop for our entertainment, which came in the form of \u2018Just the 2 of Us\u2019.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">With staff on hand and some of our amazing volunteers, residents at Old Sarum Manor and their families \u2013 alongside our team \u2013 could count on a day to remember. Well done everyone!<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>Flowers Manor<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Our residents in Flowers Manor were busy over the Coronation weekend with lots to get them in the party mood!<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Our activities team ensures that the Coronation featured in as many different activities as possible, from our word-in-a-word activity to pin the diamond on the crown and a King Charles quiz. Our residents surprised each other with what they knew about our new Monarch, and learned lots of facts about our King.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Flowers Manor art club helped to add to the decorative feel of our care home with Coronation-inspired door wreaths. Our gardening club even got involved by potting Coronation-coloured plants, while the Flowers Manor cookery club baked Coronation cakes for everyone to enjoy. As a whole home, our residents enjoyed a Coronation coffee morning.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">On the day itself, we all watched the Coronation together in our lounges and our cinema, with celebratory drinks all round. Residents were treated to a very special lunch on Saturday, with roast lamb and Earl Grey panna cotta \u2013 before tucking into a special Coronation tea too!<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>Nodens Manor<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Nodens Manor was just as busy as our other homes, Old Sarum Manor and Flowers Manor. Our residents welcomed families to join them for the Coronation, watching it on the big screen in our cinema.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Lunch on the Coronation Day was exceptional, with families invited to dine with us. Those that could join us were rewarded with the chance to taste the King\u2019s Quiche. Specially developed for King Charles\u2019 Coronation, the quiche featured buttery pastry, egg and cheese alongside spinach and broad beans with tarragon. Also on offer was salmon en croute, served with herbed potatoes, carrots, French beans and petit pois. Dessert was a wonderful spectacle for all involved with a fruit-decorated Union Jack Pavlova that was well received.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Our catering team went all out on the Coronation Day, with a High Tea later on the Saturday. A selection of finger sandwiches &#8211; smoked salmon and cream cheese, cucumber and cream cheese, ham and wholegrain mustard and egg mayonnaise and cress, tiny rolls filled with Coronation Chicken and roast beef and horseradish mayonnaise with the tea completed with homemade scones with Clotted Cream and jam.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">The fun didn\u2019t end there for our Nodens Manor residents, with the fabulous Coronation concert live from Windsor Palace screened on the Sunday evening in our cinema room and Lounge. Happily, the evening stayed dry and the concert was a huge success.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Thank you to everyone that worked so hard, across all of our homes, to make the Coronation weekend the standout event of the Spring!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Coronation of King Charles III was a really special time for the residents of all three of our care homes.
