Community Honors Veterans at Remembrance Parade and Church Service
Anne and Dave Join the Community in Paying Respect to Those Who Served
On Sunday, November 9th, the town held its annual Remembrance Parade and church service to honor veterans, cadets, and emergency services, both past and present. Anne and Dave arrived early at the parade route, eager to pay their respects. As the band played a slow, mournful tune, veterans and cadets marched past and paused at the memorial. Anne and Dave watched quietly as wreaths were laid around the monument. The band then played a few more tunes before stopping for a two-minute silence, a moment of deep respect and reflection.
After the parade, everyone moved to St. Mary’s Church for a special service. The church was packed, with many standing to fit everyone in. The service was warm and meaningful, with hymns sung together, prayers said, and a thoughtful sermon delivered. Anne and Dave joined in singing and praying, feeling the strong sense of community and gratitude.
When the service ended, the crowd slowly left, heading back home. Anne and Dave, walking back to Nodens Manor, felt a quiet contentment. Their day of remembering was complete — another year of honoring those who served their country. It was a simple but powerful reminder of the importance of remembering and respecting the sacrifices made by so many.
