Discovering History, Beauty, and Friendship at a Stunning Landmark
On Monday 18th August, I took two residents, Gemma and Dianna, on a special trip to Salisbury Cathedral. We are so lucky to have such a beautiful landmark nearby. Gemma, who used to live right next to the Cathedral with her husband David, was very excited to show us around.
Our journey began when a taxi dropped us off at the ticket office. We strolled through the peaceful grounds and admired the grand building from the outside. As we stepped inside, we were amazed by the vast Nave, tall arches, and soft light shining through colourful stained-glass windows. It was a moment of awe, peace, and beauty all at once.
While exploring, Gemma bumped into some old friends and staff members she knew well. Everyone was happy to see her, and it felt just like being home. The trip was more than just sightseeing; it was like stepping into a story of history and faith, woven into every stone of the Cathedral.
We took a break in the lovely refectory, enjoying homemade cake and coffee. From there, we could see the impressive Spire through the glass roof, adding to the magic of the visit. Gemma and Dianna said it was a very special day, and they thanked me for taking them. It was a trip to remember!
