Music Therapy Brings Joy and Memories to Old Sarum Manor Residents
Residents and families enjoy a day of uplifting live music and engaging performances at the care home
Old Sarum Manor Care Home was filled with the sounds of music therapy, bringing joy and cherished memories to residents and their families.
The afternoon began with Dawn, who played her piano, filling the communal areas with beautiful melodies. Her soothing tunes created a warm atmosphere, setting the stage for an afternoon of musical delight. Following Dawn’s performance, the care home warmly welcomed Marus, a talented singer known for his vibrant energy and heartfelt performances.
Marcus set up in the dining room on the top floor, creating an intimate space where residents and families gathered closely around to listen. Marus’s lively singing brought an instant sparkle to the room. From the very first song, it was clear that his positive energy and engaging performance had captivated everyone present. Residents immediately responded, singing along joyfully, with many recalling the lyrics from songs through the years.
Marcus’s selection of timeless classics and popular tunes sparked fond memories and evoked a sense of nostalgia among the residents. It was truly heartwarming to see residents reminiscing and sharing smiles as they remembered lyrics from their past. The atmosphere was filled with happiness, community spirit, and the simple pleasure of music bringing people together.
The day was a resounding success, and everyone at Old Sarum Manor is already looking forward to welcoming Marcus back in April. Events like these highlight the importance of music therapy in enhancing residents’ well-being and fostering a sense of joy and connection within the care home community.
