Residents enjoy festive arts and crafts, sharing memories and showcasing their colourful pumpkin designs
Old Sarum Manor Care Home recently marked Halloween with a lively arts and crafts event, focusing on pumpkin painting. The first batch of pumpkins arrived at the home, and our Lifestyle team, took the opportunity to paint some on the middle floor. Jim, known for his love of painting and artistic talent, thoroughly enjoyed creating his own pumpkin. He painted a striking sugar skull design, which turned out to be quite impressive.
On 31st October, a second batch of pumpkins were delivered, and an arts and crafts session was held in the tearoom. Residents Val, Anthea, Gina, and Jean joined in, sitting around tables to paint their pumpkins. During the session, they shared stories of past Halloweens and discussed their family traditions. Gina painted her pumpkin as a clown, which looked fantastic, while Val opted for bright floral patterns and Anthea chose to paint a scary face.
The residents’ creativity shone through, and the pumpkins looked colourful and festive. These colourful displays have now been placed in the tearoom for everyone to admire. The event provided a wonderful opportunity for residents to express themselves and reminisce about past celebrations, making Halloween at Old Sarum Manor a memorable occasion.
