At Elmfield Care, we take immense pride in our commitment to supporting our local community through various fundraising and charity activities conducted throughout the year across our three homes. As our Managing Director, Sheila Johnston, aptly stated, “I am so proud of our residents and our colleagues, that all play a part in promoting our community engagement and supporting local charities. This is vital to ensure individuals feel part of their local community and we welcome communities into our homes, with lots of positive engagement.”
In the past year alone, we have raised a remarkable total of £2,348.23 for various charities, showcasing the collective efforts of our team and residents. Here are some highlights of our charitable activities:
Nodens Manor – Lydney
At Nodens Manor, we recently raised an outstanding £1,089.69 for Great Oaks Hospice, a valued local charity serving the Forest of Dean community. Our General Manager, Bartosz Turewicz, faced his fears to raise an impressive £700 by completing a skydive from 15,000 ft! Additionally, we organised a summer party raffle featuring handmade craft items from our talented staff, which raised £389.69 for the hospice. Our connection with local charities extends even further; we welcomed New Start Cat Rescue for a visit, allowing residents to interact with rescued kittens and cats.
Old Sarum Manor – Salisbury
At Old Sarum Manor, our fundraising efforts have thus far amassed £412.50 for The Care Workers Charity. This support was generated during our Country and Western-themed summer party, which included tombolas, raffles, homemade crafts by residents, a cake sale, and engaging games. We also recently held an event encouraging staff to wear orange, the charity’s color, to boost donations while brightening our residents’ day.
Flowers Manor – Chippenham
Over the last 12 months, Flowers Manor has raised £846.04 for Dementia UK, our charity of choice for the year. This vital funding, aimed at advancing research and supporting those affected by dementia, has come from raffles featuring exciting prizes and community afternoon teas, inviting not just residents, but their friends and families to join in. Looking ahead, our residents chose Bath Cats and Dogs Home as our next charity, and we will be fundraising for them until September 2025, knowing the significant impact they have in rescuing and reuniting animals.
At Elmfield Care, we remain dedicated to fostering a vibrant connection with the community and supporting our local charities, ensuring that everyone feels part of something truly special.
