Year 5 Mini Police Officers Share Their Knowledge and Joy with Care Home Residents
In a heartwarming display of community spirit, Nodens Manor Care Home opened its doors to the Year 5 Mini Police Officers from Severnbanks School for a special visit! This engaging event served as a delightful culmination of their Mini Police programme, where the enthusiastic youngsters shared what they learned about law enforcement and community safety.
Dressed in their smart uniforms, the mini officers brought an infectious energy to the care home, drawing smiles and laughter from residents. “It was wonderful to see the children so excited and eager to share their knowledge,” said Karen, one of Nodens Manor’s staff members. “Their joy and enthusiasm are truly infectious!”
The Mini Police programme, facilitated by local Police Community Support Officers (PCSO), runs throughout the academic year and is designed to teach young students about the role of police in the community while instilling valuable life lessons. While only ten students are donning the official police uniform, the entire Year 5 class has participated in the program, making it a collaborative effort.
Residents shared stories of local history and fond memories, forging connections that highlighted the intergenerational bond within the community. As the day wrapped up with a fun game of “Police Says,” everyone left with a smile, proving that laughter and learning know no age limits!
