Nodens Harvest Festival: A Celebration of Autumn’s Bounty
Autumn brought a wonderful opportunity for the residents of Nodens Manor Care Home and the local community to come together, celebrate the harvest season, and share in a heartwarming day filled with delicious food, creativity, music, and gratitude.
On Wednesday, October 28th, the residents of Nodens Manor Care Home, along with members of the local community, came together to celebrate the harvest season in a heartwarming gathering. The atmosphere was filled with joy as everyone congregated in the restaurant dining areas, where they expressed their gratitude over a delightful meal. The highlight of the day was undoubtedly the sumptuous roast dinner, which brought smiles to many faces. For those with a sweet tooth, the feast concluded with a slice of delectable pumpkin pie, perfectly capturing the essence of autumn.
The festivities continued as residents engaged in a creative crafting session, making autumn wreaths from felt and various decorations. Laughter echoed through the room as residents shared light-hearted moments, with one particularly amusing incident involving Margaret, who playfully stuck an autumn flower on her nose, eliciting giggles from her fellow crafters. This delightful activity not only allowed everyone to express their creativity but also fostered a wonderful sense of community, as they prepared their unique decorations to adorn their bedroom doors.
The celebration reached a spiritual crescendo with the arrival of Reverend Nina Summerfield and her talented ukulele band for the Harvest Service. Residents joined in harmony, singing uplifting songs that filled the air with gratitude and joy. Together, they took a moment to bless the abundance of the harvest, reflecting on the blessings in their lives. This gathering not only strengthened the bonds within the community but also created lasting memories, reminding everyone of the importance of togetherness and appreciation during this special time of year.
