A Creative Crafting Experience Fosters Joy and Community
Residents at Nodens Manor Care Home recently embraced their creative talents by taking part in a delightful willow weaving workshop. They started with a simple weave, crafting beautiful Easter wreaths that reflect their artistic spirit. Among the participants were Shirly, Jean, Hillary, and Doreen, all of whom eagerly engaged in the activity.
Doreen expressed her excitement about the project, stating, “I really enjoyed having a go, although I found weaving the willow a challenge. I’m thrilled with my finished wreath and can’t wait to gift it to a family member.”
The workshop was led by Hanna, who has over 20 years of experience in willow craft. She also teaches basket weaving at Taurus Crafts and was excited to share her expertise with the residents. The idea for the willow weaving session came from the residents’ request to explore new crafts, making it a perfect match for their interests.
This engaging activity not only allowed residents to create lovely decorations for Easter but also fostered a sense of community as they enjoyed the process together. The smiles and laughter shared during the workshop highlighted the joy of creativity at Nodens Manor.
