A century of memories, laughter, love and resilience as Dora celebrates an incredible 105 years.
We were thrilled to celebrate a very special lady at Flowers Manor Care Home yesterday, as Dora Horsfall turned 105 years young! 🥳
Dora’s secret to a long life? Well, there is no magic answer says the lady herself and that “some of us have short lives, some of us have long lives, but it’s what we do in that time that matters.”
While Dora is sure there is no big secret, Mandy, Dora’s daughter, is sure that a “siesta a day” is her secret. Noting, “I think that could be why she’s so preserved, because she has a siesta every day, even when we were little ones.”
Dora and her fellow resident community at our all-inclusive Care Home situated in the heart of Chippenham celebrated in style with a morning of music from Sue Lord Violinist, followed by an intimate afternoon tea for Dora and her family. Alongside this, we were excited to welcome Emma from BBC Points West who sat down with Dora and her family to get to know Dora’s story a little bit better. You can read more about Dora’s story here.
At Elmfield Care, we love hosting celebrations and it was our honour to celebrate Dora’s remarkable milestone. Aging doesn’t have to lead to a dull life, and Dora’s vibrant celebrations and incredible life journey exemplify this perfectly.
To end this very special post, Dora’s wisdom reminds us that life is all about how we choose to embrace it – and that is exactly what we should all do. ❤️
