Staff Participate in Practical Fire Training with Fire Defence UK
Flowers Manor Care Home staff participated in an invaluable practical fire training session led by Fire Defence UK. The initiative aimed to enhance the team’s understanding of fire safety protocols while equipping them with essential skills for managing emergencies within the care home.
During the training, staff learned about the vital role of a fire marshal, including the actions to take during a fire incident and the proper procedures for evacuating residents if required. The hands-on approach allowed staff to engage in real-world scenarios, fostering both knowledge and confidence.
One highlight of the session involved the opportunity to use fire extinguishers. Staff were given practical demonstrations and then, under expert guidance, got to try their hand at tackling simulated fire situations. Participating in this exercise enhanced their understanding of how to safely and effectively use firefighting equipment.
Overall, the training session proved to be a success, with staff leaving feeling more confident in their ability to handle fire-related emergencies. This initiative not only promotes the safety of residents but also reinforces Flowers Manor Care Home’s commitment to providing a secure environment for its occupants. As a result, the training will contribute to a higher standard of safety and preparedness throughout the care home.
