Flowers Manor Team pulled out all the stops for their first resident to turn 100!
Earlier in the year our Lifestyle Team quickly knew that they wanted to do something special for Alice’s 100th birthday so they came up with the idea to get 100 birthday cards for her 100th birthday! Our team ran an appeal on social media where they asked the local community to send in their birthday cards for the lovely Alice. Our aim was to get 100 but when it came to Alices birthday last week we counted a whopping 200 cards with one being from the King!
Starting the day with a pamper!
Alice started her day with an appointment in our home Beauty Salon with the talented Kim. After her morning pampering Alice got herself ready in a dazzling “100 and Fabulous” t-shirt and was greeted by her family who came to celebrate her special day with her.
A Morning of singing and dancing
Marcus Davies, a favourite here at Flowers Manor, stopped by later that morning to play a lively set that got everyone up and dancing. Along with Alice and her family, the residents were having a great time commemorating the milestone occasion. Naturally, our care team were up and dancing too!
The main event set in Sunflower Suite
After lunch everyone gathered in Sunflower Suite for the main event. Our Catering Team had prepared 100 cupcakes displayed beautifully in the lounge accompanied by Prosecco and Bucks Fizz. The lounge was decorated with lots of balloons beautifully made by our Deputy Managers mum – Balloons For All Occasions and Alice’s son prepared a video with her favourite music and pictures of her through out her 100 years of life.
Everyone got to raise a glass to Alice and sing happy birthday! Alice got to see the collection of cards that had been sent in from local nurseries, businesses, her family members and most importantly…the King! She was so thankful to have everyone around her and go above and beyond to make her day special. “What a perfect day from start to finish, thank you to everyone that organised this day, a day I will remember forever”
A very special thank you to our wonderful, dedicated team and special thank you to Lifestyle Manager Rachel, for making this a day for Flowers Manor and Alice to remember!
