Swinging into Wimbledon: Flowers Manor Residents Start the Tournament with a Game of Target Tennis in the Lavender Suite Lounge
As Wimbledon prepares to grace our screens on 1st July, residents of Flowers Manor Care Home are already getting into the spirit with a fun-filled game of target tennis! While many of our residents have fond memories of playing tennis in their youth or watching their favourite professionals on the court, this year’s weather had other plans for the festivities.
In typical British fashion, the rain poured down just as the games were set to begin, forcing our eager tennis enthusiasts to swap the outdoor court for the comfort of the Lavender Suite Lounge. Not to be deterred, laughter echoed through the hall as everyone gathered for some lively indoor fun.
The target tennis game, complete with makeshift nets and colourful targets, proved to be a delightful alternative, inviting smiles and friendly competition among residents. Each participant enthusiastically took turns trying to hit the targets, cheering one another on in great spirits. It was heartwarming to see the residents enjoying each other’s company, sharing stories of their own tennis experiences, and relishing the thrill of the game—rain or shine!
As the afternoon unfolded, the Lavender Suite Lounge transformed into a vibrant hub of joy, camaraderie, and cheerful banter, serving as a wonderful reminder of the bonds formed through shared passions. With Wimbledon just around the corner, the residents of Flowers Manor are ready to cheer on their favourite players, armed with memories of their own tennis days and plenty of laughs from their target tennis adventure!
