Flowers Manor Care Home recently organised a series of activities to commemorate St Georges Day. The aim was to provide residents with a delightful experience, including sweet treats, interesting facts, and crafts.
Coffee Morning: Enjoying Sweet Treats and Learning About St George’s Day
St George’s Day celebration at Flowers Manor Care Home started with a delightful Coffee Morning. Residents gathered in the Tea Room, where they were served scones with clotted cream and jam – a traditional English treat. As they enjoyed their refreshments, our Lifestyle Team shared interesting facts about St George’s Day. The residents learned about the significance of the day and its historical roots. This activity provided an opportunity for the residents to come together, learn something new, and indulge in a tasty treat.
Sky Bar: A Vibrant Atmosphere for St George’s Day Punch
To add a touch of excitement to the celebration, the residents were treated to a visit to the Sky Bar which provided a lively and vibrant atmosphere for the St George’s Day punch. The bar was fully stocked, and the residents thoroughly enjoyed socialising and mingling with their friends while sipping on their favourite beverages. The Sky Bar experience added a sense of novelty to the celebration, making it a memorable and enjoyable day for the residents.
Themed Activities: Art Club and Cooking Club Bring St George’s Day to Life
The St George’s Day theme was not limited to just one day at Flowers Manor Care Home. Throughout the week, residents had the opportunity to engage in themed activities. Art Club provided a space for residents to create decorations inspired by St George’s Day. This hands-on activity encouraged creativity and allowed the residents to feel a sense of accomplishment. Additionally, Cookery Club took on the challenge of baking an English Rose cake, a symbolic dessert representing England. These activities not only celebrated St George’s Day but also brought residents together in an interactive and engaging way.
