Elmfield Care Group Come Together for a Virtual Big Quiz Night!
On the evening of June 2nd, Elmfield Care united virtually for a fun-filled event – Elmfield’s Big Quiz. This exciting online gathering brought together all three homes: Old Sarum Manor in Salisbury, Flowers Manor in Chippenham, and Nodens Manor in Lydney, showcasing the strong sense of community and camaraderie across the care group.
The planning for this special event was a team effort, with Sharon, the Marketing Coordinator, along with Activity Coordinators from each of the three homes, helping arrange the quiz to ensure everyone could participate and enjoy the evening. The setup took place in the cinema rooms, with a call projected on the big screen so all residents and staff could see each other, making it feel like one large, connected group.
Sharon took on the role of quiz master, guiding residents through a series of engaging rounds. As residents arrived and settled in, they were served drinks and kicked off the evening with a picture quiz featuring British seaside towns. Residents formed teams, chose creative team names, and enjoyed the friendly competition.
The quiz consisted of three rounds: Geography, Music, and General Knowledge. The music round was particularly lively, with teams listening to snippets of songs and trying to identify both the song title and, for an extra point, the artist. Throughout the night, a picture quiz titled “Guess the British Seaside Towns” kept everyone on their toes, with residents examining images of different towns and guessing their names.
After all the rounds, the scores were carefully tallied. The results were announced on the big screen, with each home revealing their winning team. The overall winner of Elmfield’s Big Quiz was Flowers Manor in Chippenham! To add to the celebration, residents from the winning teams selected prizes from a fabulous selection, including sparkling wines, chocolates, and even funky socks.
The evening was a resounding success, filled with laughter, friendly competition, and camaraderie. Feedback from all three homes was overwhelmingly positive, with Senior General Manager Esther Cambridge expressing enthusiasm for hosting the quiz regularly. She emphasized how wonderful it was to see residents from different homes coming together for such a joyful event.
